File Photo Courtesy of Jim Lorish BETHEL PARK TOPS TIGERS, 7-5, TO ELIMINATE NA FROM PIRHL PLAYOFFS The Tigers dropped a 7-5 decision to Bethel Park in the quarterfinals of the PIRHL tournament on Saturday night at Bladerunners in Harmarville. The loss eliminated NA, the defending champion, from the 2006-07 playoffs. The Tigers finished the season with an overall record of 8-9. PIRHL PLAYOFF SCHEDULE
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * NORWIN FALLS TO TIGERS, 11-4 The Tigers completed their regular season with an impressive 11-4 victory over Norwin at Bladerunners in Harmarville on Saturday night. Dan Gaertner scored four goals to pace NA with Bryan Greco adding three and Brian Carothers two for the winning Tigers. Justin Fitz tallied twice for the Knights. Steve Leibhart added a goal and two assists while Niko Kovacevic recorded a goal and an assist for the Tigers. Nick Bradley was in goal for NA. With the win, the Tigers finished the regular season in sixth place with a record of 8-8. NA will open the playoffs next Saturday night against Bethel Park, the third place team. Game time is scheduled for 8:00 pm at Bladerunners in Harmarville.

SUMMARY
* * * * * * * * * * * * TIGERS BLANK GREENSBURG SALEM, 8-0 The Tigers defeated Greensburg Salem, 8-0, in PIRHL action on Sunday night at Bladerunners in Harmarville. Three Tigers --- Brian Carothers, Brian Greco, and C.J. Cooper --- scored two goals each for the winning Tigers while Steve Leibhart added three assists. Nick Bradley was in goal for the shutout. Carothers got the Tigers off and running with a goal at the 9:50 mark of the first period with Leibhart picking up the assist. Dan Gaertner made it 2-0 with Nico Kovacevic earning the asssist at the 5:09 mark. Less than a minute later, John Gillespie scored to give the Tigers a 3-0 advantage after one period. Midway through the second period, Greco tallied his first goal, unassisted, to push the margin to 4-0. Carothers scored his second of the game to make it 5-0 with 3:27 remaining. With just 1:36 left in the period, Leibhart set up Greco for his secon goal as the Tigers took a commanding 6-0 lead after two periods. In the third period, Cooper scored both NA goals. At 13:10, Gaertner picked up his second assist on Cooper's first tally. John Gillespie earned the assist on the second Cooper goal at the 11:36 mark as the Tigers went on to the easy 8-0 victory. With the win, the Tigers improved their league record to 7-8 on the season. NA will travel to Bladerunners in Harmarville again on Sunday to meet Norwin. Game time is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
