2005-06 TIGER ACTION! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * AMBRIDGE DEFEATS LADY TIGERS IN FIRST ROUND OF WPIBL PLAYOFFS The Lady Tigers traveled to Ambridge on Thursday afternoon for the first round of the WPIBL playoffs and were defeated by the Bridgers, 2532-2334. Leading the way for NA was senior Kristen McCullough who rolled a 533 series including a high game of 211. Senior Mary Viloria added a 493 series with a high game of 195. Junior Kelly McCullough has qualified for the state individual championships that will be held on March 16-17-18. MATCH

* * * * * * * * * * * * * TIGER TEAMS FINISH REGULAR SEASON ON HIGH NOTE WITH TWO WINS Both the boys and girls' teams defeated Quaker Valley, 7-0, at the Perry Park Lanes on Wednesday afternoon as the WPIBL regular season came to an end. Senior Dave Lubarsky led the boys with a 649 series with sophomore Danny Schulties adding a 627 for the winning Tigers. Lubarsky posted a 257, just one pin short of his season high. Schulties rolled a 237 and a 209 while sophomore Chris Sinagra posted a 205. Sophomore Justin Thomson came in to post a 204. For the Lady Tigers, senior Kristen McCullough led the way with a 502 series followed by seniors Mary Viloria with a 468 and Amber Schultz with a 442. With the wins, the boys finished with a record of 5-5 while the Lady Tigers were 6-4 on the season. The girls' squad finished in third place and qualified for the playoffs. MATCH

* - qualified for playoffs * * * * * * * * * * * * * * AMBRIDGE TAKES TWO FROM TIGERS Both Ambridge teams were victorious against NA on Wednesday afternoon at the Baden Bowl. The Bridgers boys' team shut out the Tigers, 7-0, while the Ambridge girls downed the Lady Tigers, 5-2. For the boys, sophomore Chris Sinagra tied his season high with a 234 and sophomore Mike Guernsey stepped in to roll a season high 222. Sophomore Danny Schulties had a match high series of 541 while senior Dave Lubarsky rolled a 532, including a 201 in game 2. For the Lady Tigers, senior Mary Viloria recorded a season high series 572 while rolling an individual high of 226. Junior Kelly McCullough also posted a 572 series and had an individual high game of 246, tops for any NA bowler for the day, male or female. With the loss, the boys fell to 4-5 and fourth place in the WPIBL Northwest Section standings. The girls dropped to 5-4 and third place. The Tiger teams will complete the regular season on Wednesday afternoon when they host Quaker Valley at the Perry Park Lanes. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm. MATCH

TIGER TEAMS TAKE TWO
FROM Both the boys and girls' teams shut out Sewickley Academy, 7-0, in WPIBL action at the Perry Park Lanes on Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore Danny Schulties led the way with a 597 series followed by senior Dave Lubarsky with a 568 and sophomore Chris Sinagra with a 564. Individually, senior Harrison Turner rolled a 245 for the individual high game with Schulties posting a 223 and 202 and Sinagra a 202. For the Lady Tigers, junior Kelly McCullough led with a 511 series followed by senior Mary Viloria with a 501 and senior Kristen McCullough with a 465. Viloria rolled a 200 for the individual high with Kelly McCullough next with a 189. With the win, the boys improved their section record to 4-4 while the Lady Tigers boosted their section mark to 5-3. The Tiger teams will travel to Ambridge on Wednesday to meet the Bridgers at the Baden Bowl. Match time is set for 3:30 pm. MATCH

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * ROCHESTER BOYS, NA GIRLS WIN The Lady Tigers defeated Rochester, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon at the Beaver Valley Lanes, but the NA boys dropped a 7-0 decision to the Rams. Senior Josie Gustavsen led the Lady Tigers with a 505 series including an individual high game of 199. Junior Kelly McCullough followed with a 482 and senior Mary Villoria added a 465. Senior Amber Schultz rolled a 192 to help NA to the victory. For the boys, sophomore Danny Schulties led with a 561 series followed by senior Dave Lubarsky with a 550 and junior Grant Martens with a 512. Schulties rolled an individual game high of 221 while Lubarsky posted a 203. With the win, the Lady Tigers moved into third place in the Northwest section with a 4-3 record. The boys' team dropped into fourth place with a mark of 3-4. The Tiger teams will be in action again this Wednesday when they host Sewickley Academy at the Perry Park Lanes. WITH QUAKER VALLEY, The Tiger boys' team came through with a 4-3 victory over rival North Hills on Wednesday afternoon at the Pines Plaza Lanes. The Lady Tigers dropped a 7-0 decision to the Indians. The Lady Tigers blanked Quaker Valley, 7-0, but the boys' team dropped a 5-2 decision to the Quakers in WPIBL action at the Fair Oaks Lanes on Monday afternoon. Sophomore Danny Schulties led the way for NA against North Hills with games of 213 and 209 and a 598 series. Sophomore Chris Sinagra rolled a team high 222 and a series of 560. Junior Grant Martens added games of 210 and 202 with a series total of 564. For the Lady Tigers, freshman Maria Frantz recorded a series total of 474 against North Hills along with a high game of 179. Junior Kelly McCullough rolled a 178 and a 429 series. Senior Amber Schultz posted a score of 436 for the three games. After the week's action, both NA teams were in third place in the section standings with records of 3-3. The Tiger teams will travel to the Beaver Valley Lanes on Wednesday to meet the Rochester Rams in section contests. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm. MATCH

The boys' team dropped a 5-2 decision to the Indians while the Lady Tigers fell to North Hills, 7-0. No individual results were available for the matches. The NA teams will be in action again on Wednesday, December 6, when they host Rochester. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 pm at the Perry Park Lanes.
