LADY TIGERS OUTSCORE MOON, 147.85-142.55

The Lady Tigers won their fourth straight without a loss with a 147.85-142.55 victory at Moon on Wednesday night.  Sophomore Leigh Bauer posted an all-around score of 37.10 to pace NA.  Freshman Gillian Carr was second with a 36.2 with senior Kelly Stiger third with a 35.55.

In individual events, the Lady Tigers recorded sixteen scores of 9.0 or better.  Bauer had a 9.6 on beam, a 9.3 on bars,  and 9.05 on both vault and floor.  Carr posted a 9.3 on both bars and floor with a 9.2 on beam.  Freshman Lauren Gabriel scored a 9.5 on bars and a 9.0 on beam while sophomore Sarah Wilson came through with a 9.3 on both bars and floor.  Freshman Kara Stiger hit a 9.5 on floor and a 9.25 on vault, and sophomore Linnea Homa recorded a 9.1 on floor and a 9.0 on bars.  Kelly Stiger tied the meet individual high with a 9.6 on floor exercises.

With the win, the NA record improved to 4-0 on the season.  The Lady Tigers will not be in action again until Thursday, January 18, when they travel to Center for a 6:30 pm section match.

LADY TIGERS CRUSH MONTOUR, 145.525-58.65

The Lady Tigers recorded their highest team score of the season in an easy victory at Montour on Thursday night.  NA downed the Spartans, 145.525-58.65.  Sophomore Leigh Bauer posted the top all-around score with a 36.95 highlighted by a 9.75 on the balance beam.

Freshman Kara Stiger was second in all-around with a 35.675 while freshman Gillian Carr was third with a 33.80.  In individual events, Bauer also recorded a 9.4 on vault and a 9.2 on bars.  Kara Stiger had a team high of 9.525 on vault along with a 9.20 on beam.  Sophomore Sarah Wilson contributed to the victory with a 9.1 on both the floor and vault along with a 9.0 on beam.  Freshman Lauren Gabriel had a team high of 9.45 on bars while sophomore Linnea Homa posted a 9.25 on vault.

With the win, the Lady Tigers improved their overall record to 3-0 on the season.  NA will not be in action again until after the winter break when they travel to Moon on Wednesday, January 3, for a 7:00 pm section meet.

LADY TIGERS DEFEAT MOON, 144.8-134.95,
FOR SECOND WIN

The Lady Tigers of North Allegheny defeated the Moon Tigers, 144.8-134.95, on Friday night at Rising Star Gymnastics for their second victory of the season without a loss.  The top all-around score was posted by sophomore Leigh Bauer who scored a 36.35.  Freshman Kara Stiger recorded a 35.45 with freshman Gillian Carr third with a 34.95.

In individual events, senior Kelly Stiger earned a 9.3 in both beam and floor plus a 9.25 in vault.  Bauer recorded a 9.2 on beam, a 9.15 on bars, and a 9.05 on floor.  Sophomore Sarah Wilson posted a 9.1 on vault and a 9.0 on floor.  Kara Stiger had the highest individual score with a 9.45 on vault in addition to a 9.25 on floor while freshman Lauren Gabriel earned a 9.35 on bars.

Next up for the Lady Tigers will be Montour on Thursday night.  The scheduled starting time at Montour is set for 6:30 pm.

LADY TIGERS AVENGE LAST YEAR'S LOSS WITH VICTORY OVER PINE-RICHLAND IN SEASON OPENER

In the WPIAL Championships last year, the Pine-Richland Rams edged the Lady Tigers for the title.  On Thursday night, it was NA with the close victory, 144.15-142.3, over P-R at Jewart's.  Senior Kelly Stiger led the Lady Tigers with a 37.35 score in the all-around.  Freshman Kara Stiger placed second in all-around for NA with a score of 35.8 while sophomore Linnea Homa recorded a 35.05. 

In individual performances, Kelly Stiger scored a 9.55 in vault, 9.5 in floor, and 9.45 on bars.  Kara Stiger registered a 9.45 on floor and a 9.25 on vault, and sophomore Sara Wilson earned a 9.35 on vault and 9.2 on floor exercise.  Homa recorded a 9.0 in her floor performance while freshman Lauren Gabriel recorded a 9.2 on bars.

The Lady Tigers will be in action again next Friday when they host Moon.  Meet time is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Rising Star Gymnastics.
